Douglas County to add restrooms and showers at Miwaleta Park

AZALEA — Twenty-three bucks will get you an RV hookup for the night at Chief Miwaleta Park next to picturesque Galesville Reservoir. It won’t, however, buy you a hot shower or use of a restroom. “We get a lot of comments that it would be a really nice place if it had a flush toilet and a shower,” Douglas County Parks Director Gary Groth told county commissioners Wednesday. “With that nice campground down there, we’ve had three porta-potties, essentially.” The county built the campground, seven miles east of Azalea, in 2006, but ran out of money to construct the bathrooms …
