Almost 10 years after he was arrested for aggravated murder, Samuel Adam Lawson is back in the Douglas County Jail, awaiting a retrial following a successful appeal to the Oregon State Supreme Court. Lawson, 37, is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on Feb. 14. He was convicted in 2005 of murdering Noris Hilde, 52, of Green and wounding his wife, Sherl Hilde, at campground near Lemolo Lake on Aug. 21, 2003. Lawson was sentenced to life without parole.
