The importance of reading and writing will take center stage this month during a two-week series of events in Douglas County. The 12th annual Celebration of Literacy will include storytelling in an inflatable fish, Roseburg High School students performing an original play to elementary students and the Battle of the Books trivia contest. The public is invited to attend a reading fair at the Roseburg Valley Mall, a discounted skate night at Parkview Skating and a preschool bilingual story time at the Douglas County Library.
