Douglas County sheriff’s deputies say an Oakland man who mistakenly believed he had a warrant for his arrest took them on a high-speed chase today before losing control, driving off a cliff and landing in the North Umpqua River. Jonathan Eli Moore, 28, was found about 50 feet down river from his vehicle, hiding under a wad of tree roots in the current, sheriff’s spokesman Dwes Hutson said.
