Oakland honors longtime resident Paul Tamm will receive a fitting honor Sunday afternoon. Oakland will dedicate the upgraded pavilion in City Park to the former mayor and longtime civic leader. Tamm, who has late-stage prostate cancer, spearheaded the renovation of the pavilion, which provides the setting for musical performances in the summer. Tamm’s contributions to the park go beyond the pavilion. He installed lights to illuminate the grounds, making the park safer. And his contributions to Oakland go beyond park improvements.
