Roseburg children remember veterans on Valentine’s Day

Cheryl Hill wrote a note to a veteran in a Valentine’s Day card she decorated. The 11-year-old Joseph Lane Middle School sixth-grader said she wanted to show her appreciation for veterans. “You’ll see there’s some veterans, they’re missing limbs and stuff and that’s what they did to protect our country,” she said. “They sacrificed so much for our country and some people take that for granted.” Cheryl and other students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Umpqua Valley in Roseburg made valentines Tuesday to be delivered to hospitalized veterans at the Roseburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center today and …
