Shay Miles U.S. Marine Shay L. Miles, son of Steven and Shannon Miles of Roseburg, was recently promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. Miles serves in Marine Reserve Co. A, 6th Engineer Support Battalion in Springfield. In 2010, his unit served a tour in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Miles received a Combat Action Ribbon and his unit was awarded a Navy Unit Commendation. Miles is a 2007 graduate of Roseburg High School, has a 4.0 grade point average as a political science major at University of Oregon and is a work studies student at the Veterans Administration in Eugene. …
