Douglas County Catholics react to Pope’s resignation

The Rev. Bill Ryan can relate to plans by Pope Benedict XVI to step down at the end of the month as leader of the Roman Catholic Church. Ryan, who has led All Souls Catholic Church in Myrtle Creek for the past 24 years, said that like the 85-year-old pope, there will come a time when he will need to acknowledge it’s time to slow down. “I likened it to myself.
