Roseburg VA buildings gain spot on historic register

Careful preservation of the Roseburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center’s oldest buildings helped prompt the hospital’s induction into the National Register of Historic Places. The National Park Service recently added the Roseburg VA to the register after Oregon’s historic preservation committee nominated it last fall. The 80-year-old hospital, the Roseburg National Cemetery and bridge over the South Umpqua River are among the 24 buildings, sites and structures the park service deemed historic.
