An Azalea man was in custody today for allegedly ransacking his stepfather’s house and beating the family dog to death. Myson Josiah Houck, 24, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree aggravated animal abuse, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft. He was being held in the Douglas County Jail in lieu of $57,500 bail. Deputies say Houck lives with his stepfather and the stepfather has been out of the area lately.
