A bill introduced Thursday in the state House by Roseburg Republican Tim Freeman would prohibit state law enforcement agencies from enforcing federal gun laws. “I think there needs to be an honest discussion about gun control,” Freeman said today. “Is it the state’s responsibility? The federal government’s responsibility? Both? None?” The bill asserts that restrictive laws violate the Second Amendment right to gun ownership.
