Chamber Corner: Elkton offers scenery, river, butterflies, food and wine

When the family needs to get away, Elkton is the perfect day trip from Roseburg or Sutherlin. Less than an hour’s drive west on Highway 138 along the beautiful Umpqua River, one can often see eagles perched in the tops of the tallest trees. Just beyond the bridge at Kellogg, buffalo are usually visible, and for the lucky nature watcher, elk graze as one nears town. A day in Elkton can be nearly free.
