Peaceful meditations: Roseburg church hosts weekly music for Lent season

Friday afternoons during Lent a group will perform at First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg, and no one will applaud. “It’s not all about the applause,” the church’s music co-director, Donna Spicer, said. “People just sit and let it (the music) surround them.” Applause would disrupt the contemplative mood of the church’s annual Lenten Meditation series. Performances begin at 12:10 p.m. and last 40 minutes.
