Green rock quarry permit gets approved by planning commission

GREEN — A proposal to build a rock quarry on 65 acres south of Roseburg won approval Thursday from the Douglas County Planning Commission, despite concerns from neighboring homeowners. Joseph Leininger of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Code Family Partnership needed the planning commission’s permission to mine and crush rocks at the east end of Speedway Road in Green.
