Roseburg woman suspected of buying goods with fraudulent checks

A Roseburg woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of writing fraudulently checks to purchase a television, cellphone and Wii console from two Bi-Mart stores. Kimber Leeann Cox, 26, was arrested at a gas station near her Roseburg home by a Winston police officer. She was brought to jail on suspicion of nine counts of identity theft for allegedly passing another person’s checks four times at the Sutherlin Bi-Mart and five times at the Winston Bi-Mart. She is suspected of using the checks to fraudulently purchase about $780 worth of merchandise, including a 23-inch TV, an Android cellphone and a radiant …
