Roseburg Junior Academy students learn about Colonial era

Roseburg students this week re-created a day when colonists went about their business — making candles, baking bread and igniting the American Revolution. For the second year, Roseburg Junior Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist school, held a Colonial Day. This year, Principal Dan Wilbanks built a replica of Buckman Tavern, where rebels gathered before sunrise on April 19, 1775, to await the British Army marching toward Lexington to confiscate their guns.
