GLIDE — After studying the weather for a month, Glide Elementary School second-graders were bursting with questions for meteorologist Al Peterson. How do you tell the weather? How big can a hurricane get? How fast can a tornado get? How cold can a snowstorm get? Peterson, a meteorologist for Eugene television station KVAL, spoke last week to Glide Elementary’s two second-grade classes. He explained weather phenomena and talked about using satellite images and math to predict the weather.
