Canby gave the Roseburg girls basketball team all it could handle in their Class 6A first-round playoff game Wednesday night. The Indians had defeated the Cougars twice earlier this season, but they didn’t back down and made Roseburg work hard for its 67-61 victory at Robertson Memorial Gym. Roseburg (18-7) claimed its first state playoff win since 2007 and advances to a second-round game at top-seeded Central Catholic in Portland Saturday, with a state tournament berth on the line.
