The whipped cream was flying Wednesday afternoon when community members gathered to get pied in the face for the fourth annual Greater Douglas United Way fundraiser. People bid to pie their friends or local celebrities with aluminum plates full of whipped cream. “It’s a way to put fun back into our fundraising,” United Way New Donor Developer Jim Darrow said. “It’s a silly event.” The organization raised $2,200 which will go toward the 2012 -2013 campaign goal.
