ROSE Congratulations state champs Congratulations to the Glide High Wildcats on winning their first state championship in wrestling. It’s a well-deserved honor for a school that’s long been a powerhouse in the sport, but had never managed better than a second-place state finish, despite having many individual state champs over the years. Depth was the secret this year with 11 state placers, including state champion Garret Short, racking up enough points to easily outdistance second-place Willamina.
