Self-described long shot for Roseburg City Council seat raises profile

Josh Tibbetts doesn’t give himself much chance to be picked by the Roseburg City Council to fill the vacant Ward 4 seat. He said the council is too entrenched with an old-boys-club mentality to appoint a bold thinker like himself. Even so, Tibbetts, 51, pounded the pavement outside Roseburg City Hall this morning, wearing a sandwich board that read in bold red letters, “Will work for council.” “I’ve got nothing to lose, so I might as well make it fun for myself,” Tibbetts said. “It gives people something to think about.” Several people driving past the corner of Douglas Avenue …
