Meet Your Merchant: Nickabobs makes the cut for 32 years

Fisherman Nick Pappas needed a market for his catch. Construction worker Bob Nicklason lost his hand in an electrical accident and needed a different job. The Pappas family constructed buildings. Those three factors came together in 1981 and resulted in the opening of a meat market at 2295 Diamond Lake Blvd. in Roseburg. The Pappases constructed the building, Nick Pappas caught the fish and Nicklason worked in the store. Tom Pappas, Nick’s brother, came up with a name for the business: Nickabobs Meat Market, a combination of Nick’s and Bob’s names. The meat market has gone though a couple of …
