Douglas County Cultural trust distributes money to spur the arts

The Douglas County Cultural Coalition has awarded $11,170 to 21 recipients to support the arts. The coalition’s president, Joe Coyne, presented the grants March 5 in the Ford Family Room at the Douglas County Library. The coalition is part of the Oregon Cultural Trust, an organization that supports the arts, humanities and heritage preservation statewide. Coyne said the coalition tries to disburse money throughout the county to reach as many people as possible. Most of the grants go for children’s programs.
