Umpqua National Forest supervisor takes temporary role in Portland

Umpqua National Forest Supervisor Alice Carlton will spend the next several months in Portland temporarily serving as the director of civil rights for the Forest Service in Oregon and Washington. Gina Owens, the Umpqua National Forest deputy forest supervisor, will be the interim forest supervisor until Carlton returns to the post this summer. North Umpqua District Ranger Carol Cushing will temporarily serve as deputy forest supervisor starting March 25. Carlton’s first day at the Portland Forest Service office was Friday.
