A 49-year-old Newport man was arrested after he was discovered inside a stolen van at an Azalea gas station. A van with Texas license plates driven by Eric Allen Clemens by spotted in the 100 block of Ranchero Road by a deputy who noticed a broken window on the van, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy discovered the vehicle was stolen after running a search on the license plate number, and took Clemens into custody, according to a police report.
