Douglas County 2013-14 school registrations

CAMAS VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Registration for grades K-12 will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 197 Main Camas Road.

New students will need to bring immunization records and birth certificates.

DAYS CREEK SCHOOL DISTRICT

Tiller Elementary

Registration for all grades at Tiller Elementary School, 27450 Tiller Trail Highway, will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 29 and Aug. 30.

Students need to bring a completed registration packet with them.

Days Creek Charter School

Registration for grades 9-12 at Days Creek Charter School, 11381 Tiller Trail Highway, will be held 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20, 21 and 22. Middle school students can also register Aug. 22.

Juniors and seniors can register Aug. 20.

All high school students can register Aug. 21.

Grades 6-12 can register Aug. 22.

ELKTON SCHOOL DISTRICT

Each new student needs to bring a birth certificate, immunization records and transcripts from a previous school.

Free and reduced lunch application forms will be available at the grade school office beginning Aug. 13.

Elkton Elementary

All students in grades K-8 can register at the grade school, 15656 Highway 38, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 13, 14 and 15.

All returning students can pick up enrollment packets during that time.

Remaining packets will be mailed home Aug. 15.

Each kindergarten and new student to the district must bring a copy of a birth certificate and immunization records.

Students transferring from other districts will also need to bring transfer information from previous schools.

There is a $5 fee for grade school lockers and towels.

The sports participation fee for grades 5-8 is $15 per sport.

Elkton Charter School

Registration for grades 9-12 at Elkton High School, 749 W. River Drive, will be held Aug. 13, 14 and 15.

Freshmen will register from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., sophomores from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., juniors from 11 a.m. to noon and seniors from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

All remaining students can register from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 15.

Any students that cannot make those times can register on the first day of school.

There will be a student body card fee of $10, a P.E. towel fee of $10 and a sports participation fee of $35 per sport, with a maximum sports fee of $100 per family.

GLIDE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Glide Elementary School

Students in grades K-6 can register at Glide Elementary, 1477 Glide Loop Drive, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 and Aug. 22.

A date for back-to-school night has yet to be determined.

School starts Sept. 3.

Glide Middle School

All seventh- and eighth-grade students can register at Glide Middle School, 301 Glide Loop Drive, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 and Aug. 22.

The ice cream social is at 6 p.m. Aug. 28.

School starts Sept. 3.

Glide High School

Registration at Glide High School, 18990 N. Umpqua Highway, for grades 9 and 12 will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 26, while grades 10 and 11 can register from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27.

New students can register Aug. 28 by appointment.

There will also be an evening registration from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28.

All registration will take place in the main office building.

Students will pick up their final schedules when they register.

Students should come prepared to pay student body, athletic and class fees. Lunch deposits may also be paid.

School starts Sept. 3.

NORTH DOUGLAS SCHOOL DISTRICT

North Douglas Elementary

Students in grades K-8 can register at the elementary school, 100 School Ave., from 8 am to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 27, 28 and 29.

North Douglas High School

Students in grades 9-12 can register at the high school, 305 S. Main Street, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28.

OAKLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT

Oakland Elementary School

Students in grades K-4 can register at the school, 499 N.E. Spruce Street, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. any day starting Aug. 13.

There will be an open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 29.

Lincoln Middle School

Students in grades 5-8 can register at the school, 931 Old Town Loop, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 20 and Aug. 21. Registration will also be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22.

Sports physicals will be at 6 p.m. in the high school gym Aug. 13. The cost is $20.

Student body fees are $10 for fifth-graders and $15 for grades 6-8.

Sport fees are $50 per sport per athlete.

Orientation for parents and students will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Lincoln Library.

Oakland High School

Students in grades 11 and 12 can register at the school, 521 N.E. Spruce Street, Aug. 19. Senior registration is from 9 a.m. to noon, while junior registration is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Students in grades 9 and 10 can register Aug. 20. Sophomore registration is from 9 a.m. to noon, while freshmen registration is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Pictures will be taken during these times.

High school students new to the district can register from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 22.

Sports physicals will be at 6 p.m. in the high school gym Aug. 13. The cost is $20.

ROSEBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT

Registration for elementary students kindergarten through fifth-grade will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at each of the district’s eight schools.

Parents or guardians must present proof of age at the registrations by providing a birth certificate, baptismal record, passport or certified adoption papers.

All students must have evidence of immunizations. Forms are available for this at the Douglas County Health Department, the schools and physicians’ offices.

The first day of school for elementary students is Sept. 3.

John C. Fremont Middle School

Registration for grades 6-8 will be held at the school, 850 Keady Court, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22.

Late registration will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 3.

The first day of school for sixth-grade students is Sept. 3, while seventh- and eighth-graders begin Sept. 4.

Joseph Lane Middle School

Registration for sixth graders will be from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 21, while registration for seventh- and eighth-graders will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 at the school, 2153 N.E. Vine St.

The first day of school for sixth-grade students is Sept. 3, while seventh- and eighth-graders begin Sept. 4.

Late registration will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 3.

Roseburg High School

Registration for students in grades 9-12 at Roseburg High School, 400 W. Harvard Ave., is as follows:

Aug. 20 — Last names beginning with S, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; last names beginning with I, O and P, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; last names beginning with A and G, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Aug. 21 — Last names beginning with B, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; last names beginning with H, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; last names beginning with N, R, U and V, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Aug. 22 — Last names beginning with W and Q, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; last names beginning with L and K, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; last names beginning with J and D, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Aug. 23 — Last names beginning with M, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; last names beginning with C and E, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; last names beginning with F, T, X, Y and Z, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

High school students who are new to the Roseburg School District should call 541-440-4131 to schedule an appointment to enroll.

Parking registrations will be held for seniors on Aug. 22 and juniors on Aug. 23.

The first day of school for high school freshmen is Sept. 3. Sophomores, juniors and seniors start classes on Sept. 4.

SOUTH UMPQUA SCHOOL DISTRICT

Canyonville Elementary

Registration for grades K – 8 will be held at the school, 124 N. Main St., from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Students who are attending Canyonville Elementary for the first time will need to bring the address and/or phone number of the school they last attended. Kindergarten students must be 5 before Sept. 1 and need to bring a birth certificate, Social Security number and an immunization record.

All returning Canyonville students are required to have an updated enrollment form filled out and signed by a parent.

Myrtle Creek Elementary

Registration for elementary students K-5 at Myrtle Creek Elementary, 651 N.E. Division St., will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6-8.

Grades K-1 can register Aug. 6.

Grades 2-3 can register Aug. 7.

Fourth- and fifth-graders can register Aug. 8.

Parents should bring their kindergartners with them to registration for testing.

All new students need to bring their birth certificate, immunization record and Social Security number.

There will be a fee of $6 for the student planner. Yearbooks can be purchased for $10.50.

Tri City Elementary

Registration for elementary students kindergarten through fifth-grade at Tri City Elementary, 546 SW Chadwick Lane, Myrtle Creek, will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.

Parents or guardians must present proof of age at the registrations by providing a birth certificate.

A short kindergarten assessment is also required and will be given during this same time.

All students must have evidence of immunizations.

The first day of school for elementary students is Sept. 3.

Coffenberry Middle School

Registration for grades 6-8 will be held at the school, 591 N.E. Rice St., Myrtle Creek, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

If students are unable to register on this day, they must call the office to make other arrangements. Students must be registered by Aug. 29 to start on the first day of school.

Enrollment, lunch and student permission forms must be filled out and turned into the office during registration.

There will be a student body card fee of $15. P.E. uniforms will be available for $15. There is a sports participation fee of $50 per sport, with a maximum sports fee of $100 per student, or $150 per family with students in the same school.

The first day of school is Sept. 3.

South Umpqua High School

Registration for grades 9-12 will be held at the high school, 501 N.W. Chadwick Lane, Myrtle Creek, Aug. 8.

Freshmen can register between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Sophomores can register between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

Juniors can register between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Seniors can register between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Students are to report to the gym and will be assigned lockers, have a school photo taken and pay registration fees at this time.

The first day of school is Sept. 3.

SUTHERLIN SCHOOL DISTRICT

East Primary Elementary

Students in grades K-3 can register at the school, 323 N.E. Third Ave., from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 14, 15 and 16.

All new students can register Aug. 14. New students need to bring their birth certificate, current immunization records and Social Security number.

Returning first- and second-graders register Aug. 15.

Returning third-graders register Aug. 16.

West Intermediate Elementary School

All students in grades 4-6 can register at the school, 531 N. Comstock Rd., from 8 to 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21.

New students need to bring their birth certificate, current immunization records and Social Security number.

The first day of school is Sept. 3.

Seventh-graders can register at the school, 649 E. Fourth Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 15.

Eighth-graders can register from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16.

All new students can also register from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16.

Physicals for boys and girls will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the high school activity center. The cost is $20.

Registration times are based on the student’s last name. Students with last names starting with A-M can register at the school, 500 E. Fourth St., from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Students with last names starting with N-Z can register from 10 a.m. to noon.

Seniors can register Aug. 12.

Juniors can register Aug. 13.

Sophomores can register Aug. 14.

Freshmen can register Aug. 15.

All new students to Sutherlin School District can register Aug. 19.

Physicals for boys and girls will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the high school activity center. The cost is $20.

WINSTON-DILLARD SCHOOL DISTRICT

Brockway Elementary School

Students in grades K-3 can register at the school, 2520 Brockway Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 21.

Kindergarten students must bring their birth certificate and immunization record.

Students from grades seven and eight can register at the school, 330 S.E. Thompson Street, Aug. 21.

Seventh-grade registration is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and eighth-grade is from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. All grades can register from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Freshman and juniors can register at the school, 1381 N.W. Douglas Street, from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 20.

Sophomore and senior registrations is from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 21.

New students must bring their transcript from the last school they attended along with proof of residency.
