Man cools feet inside Roseburg store with fire extinguisher

A man grabbed and discharged a fire extinguisher inside Big Lots, 1350 N.E. Stephens St., to cool off his feet Monday evening, according to Roseburg police.

Nicholas Ryan Mitchell, 32, a transient, was complaining his feet were hot and used the fire extinguisher. Customers were hit with the spray, and some got it in their eyes, police said.

Mitchell was arrested without incident on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was booked into the Douglas County Jail, where he was in custody today and held in lieu of $8,750 bail.
