The Douglas County OSU Extension Master Gardeners held its annual Awards Banquet Oct. 13. This year’s Douglas County Master Gardener of the Year award went to Mik Carlson. Behind the Scenes Master Gardener of the Year was Bonnie Courter. Outstanding New Master Gardener of the Year was Vicki McAlister. The Horticultural Agent’s Award went to Maureen Benice. Between January and August this year, more than 260 volunteer members provided 12,217 hours of service to the community.
