Chapins enjoy 60th together Bill and Peggy Chapin celebrated their 60th anniversary recently with a luncheon at King’s Estate Winery. The event was hosted by the Chapins’ children and grandchildren. After meeting at a USO rooftop dance, Margaret Mary Bruce and Bill Chapin enjoyed a short engagement. They were married Sept. 9, 1952, in Chicago. Peggy worked briefly outside the home before becoming, according to one of her daughters “... an amazing domestic engineer.
