Paulsons offer UVAS program
The Umpqua Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday for a presentation at the Douglas County Library, 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., Roseburg.
Naturalists Dale and Elva Paulson have spent thousands of hours photographing, sketching, and studying wildlife behavior. They will present “Rare Encounters,” about wildlife behaviors not often seen. The program includes mammals, birds and insects, many common to Douglas County.
On Saturday, the Paulsons will lead Raptor Run, a field trip to view birds of prey in that hunt during the day. Carpooling is an option; little or no walking is necessary. Attendees will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Bureau of Land Management parking lot, 777 N.W. Garden Valley Blvd., Roseburg.
Bring lunch; binoculars or a spotting scope are helpful. Others will share with those who have none.
