Audubon offers slides, birding
The Umpqua Valley Audubon Society offers two free events this week; one Wednesday and another Saturday.
See a Klamath Basin slide show presentation on refuges, wildlife and marsh restoration at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglas County Library, 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., Roseburg. Wendell Wood, wildlands interpreter for Oregon Wild, will present a slide show about wildlife and conservation in the Klamath Basin.
Saturday is Lazy Day Birding, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the north end of the green bridge between Fir Grove School and the VA entrance. Bring a light-weight lawn chair, binoculars, snacks and water. Sit or walk a little in oak woodland; watch for acorn woodpeckers, red shouldered hawks and passerines.
