Kudos: Tenmile community finds way to honor firefighters

Funds to honor our firefighters

Thank you to everyone who supported the Tenmile Fire Department during our bake sale-raffle and to all who baked or sold the food or raffle tickets. Kudos to Darlene Phillips for donating the TV quilt raffle prize and to the donors of the Treats Café and Carlos’ Restaurant gift certificates.

It was wonderful to see the community support for our all-volunteer firefighters who train and drill so they can help us during emergencies. We wanted to show our appreciation. Our raffle raised $331 and the bake sale earned $337.52 to buy badges for the firefighters who have volunteered the longest. Each badge costs $130, a small price for all the years of service.

TFD Medical Officer Sue Coffel drew the raffle winners. Mark Brint won the quilt, Bonnie Lacher won the Carlos Restaurant certificate and Del Drake won the Treats certificate.
