Kudos: Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation’s grant will nourish the needy in south Douglas County

Tribe’s grant to help the needy

The South Douglas Food Bank wishes to thank the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for the generous $7,500 grant it recently awarded to our organization. This donation will help us purchase essential food items including meat, dairy, vegetables, grains and fruits for distribution to needy families.

Food insecurity remains a significant problem in Douglas County. We feel fortunate that we can successfully feed hungry families through the continued community support we receive. Our volunteers distributed more than 4,200 food boxes last year, serving 16,000 people in 13 rural communities of southern Douglas County.

Thank you for helping support the needs of children and families in our local communities.
