Club News: Altrusa’s Sept. 13 and 14 book sale in Roseburg supports literacy projects

Shop for books this weekend

Altrusa International, Inc., of Roseburg will have a book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 643 S.E. Kane St., Roseburg.

The sale includes thousands of paperback and hard cover books in all genres. Paperbacks are 25 cents and hard covers are 50 cents to $1. In addition, remaining nonfiction and older hardcovers will be $2 per bag from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Donations of gently used books are also appreciated. Bring books directly to the book sale or call for a drop-off appointment. Sale proceeds are used to purchase children’s books for literacy projects. Altrusa assists the schools in helping children experience the fun and value of reading. Last year, Altrusa stocked 14,800 books in local food pantry baskets, in the Altrusa Library at the Fish Food Pantry and more.
