Are you an average Christmas spender?

$749.51. According to a National Retail Federation holiday consumer spending survey, that’s how much the average holiday shopper will spend during this Christmas season. That’s up slightly from the survey’s average of $740.57 a year ago. The News-Review did its own unscientific survey and asked shoppers in Roseburg about their spending and holiday shopping. Colleen Fluetsch of Roseburg at Douglas County Farmer’s Co-op: “I think we’ll be pretty close to that figure ($750),” she said of the spending she and her husband, Terry, will do. She said the couple have spent a little more than that during past Christmas seasons. …
