The number of tattoo shops in Douglas County has grown in the past 15 to 20 years, keeping pace with the public’s increasing acceptance of tattoos. Ink artist Chere’ Hall remembers when Primal Visions opened in Myrtle Creek in about 1995 and was the county’s first licensed shop. An apprentice in the shop, Hall moved with it to Roseburg several months later, continuing her three-year apprenticeship.
