All lanes reopen after crash on Highway 138 West west of Sutherlin

A vehicle that left the road, crashed into power lines and went down an embankment briefly closed Highway 138 West at Milepost 17, about 8 miles west of Sutherlin, this morning, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The vehicle struck the power lines at about 5:45 a.m., ODOT spokesman Gary Leaming said.

One lane reopened shortly before 8 a.m., while utility crews worked to restore the downed power lines.

All lanes were open by 11 a.m.

OSP, ODOT and Pacific Power responded to the scene.

It was not immediately known whether the driver suffered injuries, Leaming said.
