Firefighters spent more than two hours fighting a “stubborn” house fire in Garden Valley that was reported shortly before midnight Wednesday. The blaze at 3040 Fisher Road was difficult to put out because of the home’s construction and a high volume of flammable material inside, Douglas County Fire District No. 2 Fire Marshal Josep Pedrola said today. The house, owned by Lonnie and Janice McKim, was valued at $78,319, according to the Douglas County Assessor’s Office. Initial damage to the house and its contents was estimated at $100,000.
