Roseburg police dog sniffs out first felony bust

Roseburg’s new drug-sniffing police dog notched her first felony arrest Thursday, finding marijuana and heroin during a traffic stop on Harvard Avenue. Dora, the Belgian Malinois recently added to the force to help the city enforce drug laws, had made two misdemeanor arrests since she started two weeks ago: one during a home search and the other during a traffic stop. Police say that after getting pulled over on Harvard at Umpqua Street at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nicholas Paul Tompkins and Sean Allen McCorquodale, both 29 and of Roseburg, were found by Dora to be in possession of heroin. …
