ELKTON: Dog drowns after boat capsizes

A dog drowned Sunday after its owner’s drift boat capsized in Hart Rapids on the Umpqua River and the animal’s life vest became snagged on the boat. Three men who also fell overboard, including the dog’s owner, Christopher Keksi, 51, of Bend, made it safely to shore. At 10:22 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a capsized boat just below a boat ramp in Elkton.
