Daughter gets light sentence in Douglas County court for testimony against mom

A Eugene woman who pleaded guilty to bilking the government out of $40,500 avoided prison by testifying against her mother to a grand jury. Ashlee Maechelle Heinecke, 27, was ordered by Douglas County Circuit Judge Frances Burge to repay the Department of Health and Human Services and serve three years on probation. She was also sentenced to two days in jail and 58 days on work crew. She went into custody immediately after being sentenced. Heinecke admitted helping her mother, Patricia Heinecke of Roseburg, cheat the government by posing as a caregiver and health care recipient for several years. Special …
