A Roseburg man who attempted to disguise himself by wearing a wig is in jail after he attempted to run from a deputy Tuesday morning.

That morning, a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office located Jeremiah William Woods, 26, of Roseburg, near the intersection of B Avenue and Third Street, Canyonville. Woods was known to have an active parole violation warrant for his arrest.

According to police, Woods was wearing a wig in an attempt to conceal his identity.

The deputy exited his patrol vehicle and began chasing Woods who had already began running.

The deputy soon caught Woods and arrested him on the warrant and on suspicion of two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, third-degree theft and interfering with a police officer.
