WINCHESTER — The entire Umpqua Community College campus will be closed until noon today because of a broken main water line.

Construction crews damaged a water line while working on the new Snyder Hall building, according to school officials. Workers are in the process of closing the system this morning and expects to have water on campus by noon.

Students and visitors are recommended to monitor the college main website at www.umpqua.edu for updates on the home page.

“We are encouraging people to check the website for the latest information,” said Tiffany Coleman, the director of communications and marketing at UCC.

As of this time, the UCC Board of Trustees meeting is still scheduled for 5 p.m. today. Should repairs take longer than expected, any updates will be reflected on the college website. For more information, call UCC at 541-440-4600.
