Startled into the upright position by the third alarm clock, he staggers in the dark toward the shower or coffee pot or both, if need be.
Next he finds himself in the kitchen staring into an open cupboard or refrigerator, until he hears an internal voice directing him to look over his shoulder at the clock on the microwave.

One glance at those glowing numbers and he’s now fully awake.
We call it “Getting ready!” Fifteen minutes earlier he looked as though he really didn’t have the art of walking down, but now - with blood pressure rising and a fresh shot of adrenaline – he surely could give Usain Bolt a run for his money.
A quick kiss and a quiet good-bye so as not to wake the sleeping ones, and it’s off he goes again for another full day.
It’s been said that God gives Dads a dollar to spend every day. Spend 50 at work and 40 on sleeping and eating, and we’re left with one thin dime to invest as we choose.
Spending that dime will be the main factor in what our kids will become and, ultimately, our communities and our country.
So, every day before you open the door to walk back into your home - pry off your work hat, put your DAD hat on, and with purpose and joy invest some of that dime in your kids.
