I love to read. My Kindle app is filled with a very eccentric variety of genres. I usually have at least four books “in process” at any given time.

I take full advantage of the books Amazon offers for free, using blog posts and Facebook updates from friends to know when new ones are available.

Hip2Save.comtarget="_blank"> and moneysavingmom.comtarget="_blank"> are great sites that alert me to all kinds of deals, including the newest free books Amazon is offering.

One of my favorite genres is historical fiction. A good story built around a specific time or event draws me in deep.

I love history in general, so finding characters to bring it to life intrigues me.

A great author of historical fiction is Francine Rivers. She has a knack for filling out the lives of her characters in detail and with emotion that grabs my attention and makes it hard for me to put the book down.

One of her books, A Lineage of Grace, certainly did that for me.

This is a story that spans the ages through the lives of five women from the Bible, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary.

Though the Bible does tell the stories of each of these women, Rivers has done an amazing job bringing the reader to a better understanding of what these women must have felt and thought during the times of tremendous hardships each endured.

For those concerned with the Biblical accuracy, Rivers has taken no liberties with the actual Biblical events.

After reading this book, I can comprehend the “real lives” of these women. This is a great example of historical fiction done well.

I don’t want to give away the story lines because I hope you will take this opportunity to read this book. It is one of my all time favorites and I would love to share that with you.
