A veteran’s thanks

Editor’s Note: The following poem was written on Memorial Day 2001 to honor veterans. I wwas only 19 when the War began. And not a “dry behind the ear” kind of kid I am. Not a serious thought in my head did I have Yet when the war was declared I put my name to the line To become a grand and glamour’s pilot and To win this war thumbs down. No superhero, just a kid off the farm, but Now that I am a Veteran, I remembered, I didn’t say thank you, To ALL that gave us the Victory. …
