Mercy Medical Center recently elected its 2013 Medical Executive Committee. The committee includes Dr. Faye Ameredes, chief of staff; Dr. Sarah Agsten, vice chief of staff; Dr. Kurt Brickner, secretary; and Drs. Howard Feldman, Deidre McCann and Mark Smith. Medical Executive Committee members volunteer their medical expertise to monitor and improve quality and performance and ensure smooth operation of the 181-member medical staff. They are responsible for the quality of medical care offered to patients and act as a liaison between the medical staff and the hospital board. The posts are held for one year. …
