BREAKING NEWS: Update: Pedestrian killed on I-5 in Roseburg

A pedestrian was killed in a crash on Interstate 5 near the Douglas County Fairgounds shortly before 4:30 p.m. today, according to Oregon State Police.

The southbound lanes were blocked at the Harvard Avenue Exit 124 at 5 p.m, but one lane was re-opened by 5:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays until at least 7 p.m., according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Traffic was backing up through Roseburg.

One northbound lane was temporarily blocked, but has been reopened.

As of 5:45 p.m., ODOT estimated both southbound lanes would reopen after 7 p.m.

Motorists were advised to use alternate routes during their evening commute.
