REEDSPORT

Flu, pneumonia shots offered

The Douglas County Health Department will offer flu and pneumonia shots for adults and children in Reedsport Tuesday.

Shots will be available from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. at the Reedsport annex of the Douglas County Courthouse, 680 Fir Ave.

Health officials will charge $32 for shots protecting against three viruses and $44 for shots protecting against four. High-dose shots for seniors 65 and older are also available for $53.

Children on the Oregon Health Plan or whose insurance does not pay qualify for $21.96 flu shots. The fee can be waived for those unable to pay.

Shots are also available at health department facilities around the county at regular walk-in times. Shots are offered from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the Roseburg office, 621 W. Madrone; from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays at 247 N. Main St. in Canyonville and from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays at 316 West A Ave. in Drain.

Comments sought on report

A community council will host a public meeting about a Community Health Assessment at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Ford Community Room of the Douglas County Library, 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd.

The assessment was commissioned by the Umpqua Health Alliance, Douglas County’s first community care organization for patients on the Oregon Health Plan. It combines surveys and health data to identify health care problems.
