Article misstated FAA regulations

The Dec. 29 article regarding the Myrtle Creek Airport access is inaccurate and misleading. The Federal Aviation Administration has no regulation prohibiting a "through-the-fence" policy. It recognizes any agreement between the city and an airport user. It (the FAA) also recognizes grandfather clauses, which would permit Mr. Johnson to use his own hangar as it was originally intended.The Myrtle Creek airport is a dead, relatively inactive field, unless more people like the local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter can use its facilities to promote general aviation.
